Best Essex Wedding Venues
I’ve been shooting weddings in Essex for over 5 years now so I thought I’d do a guide to my best Essex wedding venues as it could be helpful if you’re planning a wedding in Essex. I’ve broken it down into sections:
Essex Barn Wedding Venues
These guys have nailed the barn venue, they’ve kept the character of their working farm but updated the barns to make them perfect for weddings without losing that unique style. Plus the people who run it are bloody lovely.
Hidden away in a wood this is a really quirky venue, it’s a dry hire barn which you can add your own style too and you have your own clearing in the forest which is perfect if you’ve always dreamt of a woodland wedding.
A pretty classy option if you’re looking for a barn, this is much more of a ‘venue’ feel but I love the unique look of it and you’ve got the farmhouse to get ready in and plenty of outside space.
I love this venue as I actually grew up right next to it. I had no idea it was a wedding venue until I got booked to work there. They are a super fun team running it and it’s great if you’ve got a lot of London guests.
A dinky barn in a rural setting, perfect for smaller weddings – up to 60 guests.
Essex Pub Wedding Venues
Complete hire of this pub, it’s no longer a working pub but still has that feel so you get a pub all to yourself without having to worry about regulars turning up!
Much more than a standard pub, definitely a lot more luxurious but with the great atmosphere, food and drink options of the main pub next door.
Essex Outdoor Wedding Venues
Chalkney Water Meadows and Tey Brook Orchard
Run by the Browning Bros. these guys have perfected fun, outdoor wedding venues. Chalkney is a lakeside setting with a Teepee and Tey Brook Orchard is in a mini wood. Both sites have glamping options onsite.
Not technically Essex but it’s close! And I had to feature it as I’d love to do a wedding there, it’s been on my wish list forever!
Complete with your very own tractors, you can do a legal ceremony in the middle of a field as they have a wooden gazebo there, then you can choose from either a teepee in the meadow or back to the rooms on their main site.
I know plenty of other outdoor places where you can have a reception too so please get in touch if you want to know about those!
Who doesn’t love a wood as a wedding venue? This little Essex woodland looks like a great setting for an outdoor wedding.
