Best of 2017

Well, I don’t even know where to start with this.  2017 was off the chart brilliant for me.  When you start the year in a bar, scoffing Keralan food in a southern Indian town by the sea, you know you’re going to be onto something good.  We’ve had so many adventures this year, pulling the kids out of school to travel for months.  My first time in India was filled with festivals, beaches and the most incredible food and people.  We swam in huge, lazy rivers in Cambodia and spent weeks in huts on tropical beaches.  I saw my children embrace the world and realised the beauty of the little things in a way I’d never noticed before.  We climbed mountains and swam in icy waterfalls hidden in the rainforest, ate streetfood from sticky plastic tables and rode motorbikes through lush, green valleys.

And then home, and back to a job that I love from the bottom of my heart.  I’ve seen so many wonderful, emotional and truly brilliant weddings this year.  Each and every one of them has left it’s mark on me in the best possible way. I’ve laughed and cried (shhh! don’t tell anyone) seen families united in the most moving way and parties that were the most awesome fun.  I think doing this job really does teach you the value of the relationships in your life.  I couldn’t be more grateful for my couples for putting their faith in me and for being so downright lovely and fun.  If I could give you all a hug now I would.

So here you are, a little round up of the best of my year.  You’ll even spot some of me in there! I’ll be doing a little round up of my plans for 2018 on here soon. I’ll link to it here when it’s done.
