Back Garden Marquee Essex Farm wedding
I think I’m going to be excited about this wedding for the next 10 years. Ellen and Jolyon are not only a super lovely couple but they also managed to pull off an beautiful, stylish and most importantly a very fun wedding. I love a back garden wedding and Ellen’s family farm made the perfect spot for their marquee.
They’d done all the styling themselves and it looked bloody awesome. Ellen loves gold and geometric design and that had totally carried through into their decor. I loved how they combined that contemporary trend with a vintage, nostaligic feel. It worked perfectly in the farm setting. Modern but with a hint of boho. It was the perfect combination.
The day was very relaxed, getting ready at the farmhouse, down the road for a beautiful church service and then straight back to the farm for the rest of the evening. They broke tradition by doing the speeches once the starters had come out, which I thought was a great idea. I always think speeches before the meal are a winner but if time is quite tight, then serving your food first then overlapping that with the speeches keeps everyone happy! They’d made their own limoncello instead of wedding favours, which was a big hit with shots after dinner. As you can imagine, things went a bit wayward after that, with a great party on the dancefloor, fuelled by great music from The Nameless Three!
So here’s a few photos from the day.
