A micro wedding in Norfolk

Emily and Toms micro wedding was my first one back after lockdown and what a total delight it was.

I traveled for Norfolk for their day. They had a church service followed by a family gathering at Emily’s family home. I thought a church service might feel odd with only 10 guests but I can honestly say it felt just as special as any other church ceremony I’ve been to. In fact it was probably more emotional than normal. Having only close family there meant the atmosphere was much more relaxed. I loved how everyone was cracking up at Emily’s dad getting stuck in a pew and there was a lot of really personal moments.

After the ceremony there was a tea party and mini marquee in the garden. Luckily the sun shone and they were able to make the most of the beautiful wildflower meadow. I only stayed for a few hours but it was wonderful to see how special the day was.

Micro wedding outfit

The beauty of a mini wedding is you don’t have to spend mega bucks on things. Emily wore an off the peg ASOS dress with a £3.99 headband from eBay and still looked incredible. I think you can either use the savings from a smaller wedding to go to town on your outfit or use the excuse to not have to go to town! I love that you’re certainly more likely to do what you want and I think that really is the beauty of micro weddings over larger events.

I’m super excited to have a few more mini weddings planned for this year and hopefully there’ll be some on the cards for next year too. Personally I think there’s plenty of ways to celebrate love and whether you prefer a large or small wedding you should just go with what suits you. I really think you can have the best of both worlds with a mini-wedding for the official ceremony and then a larger party with more people at a later date. It’s definitely a great idea if your original plans have been scuppered by coronavirus.

Ok, so here we have a Norfolk micro-wedding to cheer us all up.

Here’s what Emily had to say about their photos : “These are absolutely amazing: we love, love, love them and everyone agrees how well you have captured the mood of the day, we are SO thrilled
