Autumn 1970s inspired DIY wedding
Autumn weddings and 1970s inspiration are the perfect combination. How had I not realised this before?! When Jess and Ed got married at Marks Hall, they wanted their day to be super relaxed, outdoorsy and full of family – they have 3 kids themselves. They also decided to DIY lots of elements.
Marks Hall was a great choice for what they wanted. They got to have an outdoor ceremony in October which is always a gamble, but one that worked, the sun shone and there was plenty of space for everyone to have an explore and burn off some energy after.
Jess’ creativity and vision meant they were able to bring together lots of hand-made elements which made their wedding so personal and unique.
I’m all about sustainability and slow-living so it the highlight for me was seeing Jess wear her grandmothers crochet dress as her wedding dress. You don’t get more personal than that. Jess had also made lots of things herself, like sloe gin and jams for her guests
