Relaxed Marquee Garden Wedding in Kent

Let’s take ourselves to this quintessentially English garden wedding. What a dream of a day this was. A marquee in Hattie’s family garden, a relaxed church service, heartfelt moments, laughter, children running free, speeches to tug at the heart strings, there was so much to love about this special day.

Hattie and Jake chose to marry at the almost Cathedral-like church of Boughton Aluph. They had a family friend, who is also a vicar, host the service which was truly one of a kind. Everyone was doubled over with laughter when he donned an Elvis outfit mid-ceremony. If you’re going to choose a vicar, choose a vicar who was also in a punk band, is my advice! Then after the service everyone gathered in the church grounds before I bundled these two off for a few quick photos all to themselves – a wonderful chance for the two of them to catch up too!

Then it was back to the family home. The reception was in the small woodland that Hattie planted as a child. Does it get more magical than that? And then into the marquee for delicious food and wonderful speeches and of course a fabulous ceilidh to get everyone dancing.

I’m a huge fan of relaxed, emotional, personal weddings that feel special yet are still undoubtably great fun. Hattie and Jake absolutely perfected that with their day and it will stay in my heart for a long time!
