Barns at Lodge Farm Nazeing

The Barns at Lodge Farm in Essex is one of my favourite local venues. When Sophie and Jak said they were getting married there I was super excited. It was the perfect backdrop for them with it’s alternative vibe. At the time the old barns were still accessible so we used a lot of them as a backdrop to suit their more edgy look! Before we dive into the photos here’s a little more about this venue.

Lodge Farm Barns, Essex

This venue is set on a working farm. I love that they’ve really preserved the feel of a rural farm whilst also making it into a stylish wedding venue. It’s such a shame when venues loose that character that makes it feel like a farm. These guys have managed to get that balance just right as it feels like there’s just the right amount of ‘edge’ to it. There’s a few different barns spread out over the yard and my favourite is the old one where the ceremony happens, it really feels like a barn rather than a overly swanky venue.

As the Barns at Lodge Farm are in Epping it makes it super accessible from London and yet still feels really rural. The team who run it are also incredibly lovely too. That makes so much difference to your day.

The wedding day at the barns

Sophie got ready at the venue, I knew she’d make the day look amazing but I was blown away by her dress. She had it hand-made by The Dressmaker – Kim Cannon. It was such an incredible bespoke design with the most beautiful grey-blue colour. I’m a big fan of a non-white dress and this one really suited Sophie and the location. She also got dresses made for her sister and mum too. Together they all looked incredible!

When I met with Sophie and Jak they said it was really important to them that they chose suppliers who were really nice people. It meant I got to work alongside some of my favourite Essex wedding suppliers. It really did make so much difference to the day because everyone loved working together and we were all really excited to work on such a creative day.

Bespoke wedding rings

I especially loved their bespoke wedding rings from Rusty’s Jewellery. I love it when couples do things that feel like them and this was something that really stood out for me. They are both beautiful pieces of jewellery that look special but definitely not traditional wedding style which makes them all the more personal to the two of them. If you’re going to wear something all the time I think it’s really important to have something that speaks to you.

Wedding Venue – Lodge Farm Nazeing

I really love this venue, they pride themselves on their sustainability and really look after their couples. Honestly, the vibe on the day will be awesome thanks to this team. Bryony the venue manager is a total legend and such a ray of sunshine! The venue holds up to 250 guests but you could also host a much smaller wedding there. There’s so many spaces there to make use of you can totally make it how you want it. There’s a bridal suite to get ready in, The Granary for the ceremony, a large barn with the bar in AND the huge Grain Store which makes up the main barn. Plus, if that wasn’t enough there is a field available for glamping.

Here’s what Jak had to say about their photos: “They are all absolutely stunning!! We looked through them last night on our 1 month anniversary. We can’t say enough how important it was to us to have you at our wedding. It felt like you were our guest instead of our photographer and it makes us happy that you had fun too!”
