February Wedding
February can feel like a funny time of year to get married in the UK but I think a February wedding can have some big advantages.
Venues are often slightly cheaper and other suppliers may offer deals for the non-peak season. Your friends and family are more likely to be free at that time of year so it’s often great if you’re planning your wedding last minute. And that goes for your wedding suppliers, you’ll often have much more choice at this time of year. You have less expectation for ‘great weather’. Infact, chances are, you’ll be expecting wind and rain and be prepared! It can be a really cosy time of year, so choosing a venue that works well for a snug, indoor vibe, think great food, twinkly lights and maybe a log burner! And definitely a venue that doesn’t involve lots of traipsing about in the rain! In the February wedding I’ve featured here, they chose The Old Parish Rooms in Rayleigh, which is one of my favourite winter wedding venues in Essex. It works really well for smaller weddings and you still have the space for more guests in the evening for the party time.
As you can see it wasn’t all bleak and miserable, the spring flowers were peeking out and we still managed to do their portraits outside, including their personal vow readings! Although we did stick to inside for the family group photos. And it is always good to make sure you have the space to do that if you’re planning a winter wedding.
