East Mersea Hall

Nancy and Simon’s wedding at East Mersea Hall was a total dream. The weather was perfect so most of the day was outside. The girls all got ready on site, they have a little bedroom and getting ready room there which makes things easier. Then the ceremony was in the walled garden area. They have a few ceremony location options here, a dedicated room, a woodland section or this walled garden by the lake, which is probably my favourite.

After the ceremony all the guests had drinks on the patio whilst I took some of the family off for group photos by the lake, there’s some nice trees here which provides much needed shade on super sunny days!

The reception area at East Mersea Hall is in the barn, which is a nice light space with glass doors to one side which open up to another courtyard. This is on the other side of the lake to where the ceremony is. I quite like that there are separate areas for guests to move through on the day. It’s also a nice area for guests to spill out onto without being separate from the main party in the barn.

There’s a great outdoor kitchen part here too which was used for the evening food. Whilst the actual grounds are quite large people are mostly kept together in certain areas throughout the day which makes things work well. Everything is a short walking distance apart too and it’s all pretty flat which is great for those with limited mobility.
