Smeetham Hall Barn Wedding
Smeetham Hall Barn is now my local venue, since moving to Bulmer in the countryside, they are now practically my neighbor! Smeetham Hall Barn is such a lovely venue. Surrounded by the most beautiful countryside. You get full use of the main barn, which includes a marquee type set up at the back. And then if the weather is nice you can also make the most of the courtyard and the gardens out the front of the main house.
There’s quite a lot of scope to make it reflect your own personality. Having a few different areas means there’s quite a bit to play around with and you could keep it fairly minimal or go all out with your own decor.
The team here are lovely, which matters so much when you are choosing a venue. They really add to the atmosphere on the day and will you stop you going into meltdown if things get stressful at any point!

Real Wedding at Smeetham Hall
Harriet and Alex’s wedding was an absolute dream of a day. Harriet got ready at her family home which is always emotional and then they headed to their local church for a relaxed ceremony. Afterwards it was off in the Mustang – Alex was SO excited to see this surprise! – before arriving back at Smeetham Hall for drinks on the lawn and into the meal and party. It is such beautiful countryside surrounding this venue and with the great weather they really got to make the most of it. We headed to the fields for sunset and all the wildflowers were out along the edges. It was magical seeing the two of them together and just enjoying the quiet time! Both Harriet and Alex said they are uncomfortable in photos and never take a good photo but I think, as you can see, that’s not true at all!
