Old Brook Barn Navestock Essex Autumn Wedding

I’m so in love with this wedding at Old Brook Barn, not only were Alice and Sam super lovely but they had the best style.  I’m still swooning over their wedding shoes (check out Alice’s suede ones below) and that pocketed two-piece dress was an absolute dream.  Alice said she never really felt comfortable in the ‘traditional’ wedding dress and having a two piece meant she could move around a lot more easily and just felt like herself.  I’m a huge supporter of wearing things that feel like YOU.  It always strikes me as a bit odd that someone would wear something on such a special day that makes them feel uncomfortable.  You’ve only got to see Alice climbing over the gate below to see how relaxed she felt in it!! Brilliant!

I’m always recommending Rock The Frock to my brides but seriously if you’re looking for a dress with character and style then book yourself with them for a look around their shop! They always have the best dresses! And they’ve got a few different places in the South East now so hopefully there’ll be one near you!

Sam’s style was totally on point too.  I can’t get enough of those skull lapel pins and the shoes.  And that decor was awesome. I love that marbled cake and the gin theme.

Finally just a quick nod to the venue. I literally grew up just metres from Old Brook Barn and I had no idea it was now a wedding venue!  What a great spot though, super reachable from London, great countryside and the women running it are about as lovely and fun as you could possibly wish for.  Trust me, when I say great venue managers make all the difference to how your wedding day feels and these girls have got it nailed – fun but efficient and not uptight in the slightest!!  Would highly recommend!
